#7 of 30!

Another Landscape today!  This was done from a photo I took off the deck of our lake home in S.C.  I don't use red a lot, and I don't know exactly why, other than the color red in oil paint takes FOREVER to dry!  I'm going to make a conscience effort to use it more often I believe!

#6 of 30!

Back to a landscape today.  I love working in squares, they are just a little more contemporary, and they look good most anywhere. Check out all the shades of blue/greens in this one!

#5 of 30! SOLD

More lipstick......choose your color!  Another one just for fun.  This challenge has given me the opportunity to experiment with all kinds of things I never took the time to or was hesitant to do before.  Subjects, colors, sizes, canvas types, paint, etc....some I will definitely continue to use, others maybe not, but DOING is always the best way to learn.  Enjoy your Sunday!

#4 of 30!

Well, no I did not complete this larger piece in one day, I have been working on it for several days.  I really love the perspective of "Looking Up" from those trees closest to the viewer.  Having my coffee and then back into the studio for the day.  Working on some more lipstick today......we'll see how that one turns out tomorrow!

#3 of 30! SOLD

Ok, ladies, today's paintings was really fun.  I love the look of a brand new tube of lipstick, before anyone's lips have messed it up!  I envy those women who can apply lipstick and have the shape remain the same, whereas mine always end up flat....you know what I'm talking about.  In any case, this is my ode to the lipstick tube.  And you might see today's "theme" again during the challenge.

#2 of 30!

I feel like have have lived in the studio for the past 48 hours!  That's a good thing though, it really gets the creative juices going to have a challenge like this.  I am motivated and I hope I don't get distracted by those mundane everyday chores.  My family might have to actually wash their own clothes AND fix their own meals this month.  They will survive.........right?  During these 30 days you will see a few larger pieces from me, just like normal, but also a lot of smaller ones because of the time constraint.  This is a smaller one at 14x11, but still very similar to my larger contemporary landscapes.  All of these paintings will be on my website for sale and anything 8x10 and smaller will be a flat $100 and will not be framed.  I will however, ship it to you for free during the month.

Here it is....#1 of 30!

Here it is, my first post of my 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!  I named this one "Bare Minimum" because of the monochromatic blue color palate I used.  As most of you know, I love color and had to really resists throwing more color at this one.  Keeping it all in the same tone makes for a really cool effect that would have been lost if I had started adding to it.....hope you agree.  Stay tuned for #2!
